Lake Charles Civic Ballet Principals
Ashley is the 22 year old daughter of Sharon and Darrell Eaves of Merryville, Louisiana. She is a recent graduate of McNeese State University with a B.S. in Accounting. During her time at McNeese, Ashley participated in several organizations and received top honors: Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Delta Sigma Pi Chapter Eta Tau, Student Leadership Advisory Council, Philosophy Club, Chi Alpha, National Freshman Honor Society, and the President’s list. Ashley began her dance training in Merryville as a tap dancer. She has studied dance for 19 years, with the last four years in ballet at Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. In her short time at LCCB, Ashley has had many feature roles including Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, Mother in Daguerreotype, Miss Scarlet in Clue, Hawaiian and Japanese in Rudolph. She recently choreographed a new work entitled Playing With Fire for the Sneak Preview and Behind the Scenes with LCCB. Ashley teaches tap, jazz, and ballet at Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance and is preparing for the CPA exam. At the end of our season, Ashley is moving to Houston for her career in accounting and hopes will continue dancing.
Katelyn is the 17 year old daughter of Von and Rhonda Chargois of Sulphur, Louisiana. She is a home school senior. Katelyn has trained for 12 years with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance and Lake Charles Civic Ballet. She attended Houston Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program in 2009 and 2011, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, NYC Winter Intensive, 2011. In 2012, Katelyn attended School of American Ballet Summer Course. Katelyn has been featured in many LCCB productions including Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, The Flirt and Little Brother in Daguerreotype, Little Sister in Debut, Swiss and Mary in Rudolph. Katelyn also uses her creativity to produce print and online media marketing ads for the company. This past summer Katelyn planned and organized a 4 day contemporary photo shoot for the company. She choreographed her first piece, entitled A Manner of Compromise, Nearly Parallel for the November 2012 Sneak Preview & Behind the Scenes with LCCB event. Katelyn has been accepted to the Weitzenhoffer College of Fine Arts at The University of Oklahoma where she plans to major in Ballet Dance Performance.
Margaret is the 17 year old daughter of Stephanie and Albert Lie of Lake Charles. She is a senior at St. Louis Catholic High School. Margaret has trained for 15 years with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance and Lake Charles Civic Ballet. Margaret has performed feature roles in many LCCB productions including Fairy of the Golden Vine in The Sleeping Beauty, Miss Peacock in Clue, Reflection in Debut, Reindeer, Russian and Swiss in Rudolph. In addition to being a ballerina, Margaret plays the piano, flute and violin with the Bulber Youth Orchestra. She is also a busy student leader at St. Louis as National Honor Society President, Spirit of St. Louis Band Vice-President, Student Council Senator and Quiz Bowl Varsity Captain. Margaret enjoys serving our community by volunteering with the Calcasieu Medical Reserve Corps and Calcasieu Community Clinic. She has been chosen as one of two delegates to represent Louisiana in the 2013 United States Senate Youth Program and is a National Merit Semi-Finalist. Margaret has been accepted to Rice University where she plans major in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
Annabelle is the 16 year old daughter of Kay and Irvin Bang of Lake Charles. She is a junior at St. Louis Catholic high school. Annabelle has studied dance for 12 years, the last 6 with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. Annabelle has portrayed many wonderful roles for LCCB including Fairy of the Woodland Glade and Red-Riding Hood in The Sleeping Beauty, a Puppet and Scottish Girl in Rudolph, and a twin in Daguerreotype. She has participated LCCB’s Summer Intensive workshops several times and this is Annabelle’s first season as principal. In school Annabelle is an active member of National Honor Society, Students for Live, French Club and serves as an ambassador for St. Louis Catholic High School.
Julia is the 16 year old daughter of Robin and Sigmund Basone of Lake Charles. Currently a junior at St. Louis Catholic High School, Julia has studied ballet for 13 years with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. This is Julia’s first season as principal, though she has enjoyed many exciting roles with LCCB such as Canary Fairy and Cinderella in The Sleeping Beauty, Kari Doll and Russian in Rudolph, the Balloon Girl in Carnival in Venice, and one of the Twins in Daguerreotype. Julia spends most of her summer in additional dance training at LCCB’s Summer Intensive. Outside of the studio Julia enjoys being a part of the St. Louis Spanish Club, Celebrate Team and is a football trainer.
Gabby is the 15 year old daughter of Kelley and Luke Saucier. She is a freshman at St. Louis Catholic High School. Although this is her first season as principal, Gabby is no stranger to LCCB productions. She is in her 13th year of dance training with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. She has enjoyed many roles with LCCB, beginning with Raggedy Ann in Rudolph at the age of 4. More recently she has performed as Catherine Sallier in Christmas in Louisiana, Once Upon a Time, the White Cat and Fairy of the Enchanted Garden in The Sleeping Beauty, the title role of Rudolph, in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and the Middle Brother in Daguerreotype. Summer dance study for Gabby has included many LCCB Summer Intensives and a summer with Dallas Metropolitan Ballet. At St. Louis, Gabby is an active member of Student Council, French Club, and the tennis team. Her volunteer work in the community has included the Faith and Friends Food Pantry and performing with the LCCB Outreach Group at area assisted living centers and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library.
