Lake Charles Civic Ballet Principals

Jaina Renee Ange

jaina-angeJaina is the 17 year old daughter of Evette and Sam Ange of Westlake. She is a senior at St. Louis Catholic High School. She has studied ballet for 15 years, 8 of those with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. She has continued her dance training in the summer by attending many LCCB Summer Intensive workshops and has attended the Joffrey Texas Summer Intensive in San Antonio. This is her third season as a principal dancer and she has performed the roles of the lead dancer in Amen, Scottish, Russian and Arabian dancers in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Gift of Frankincense in The Little Drummer Boy, Spring Fairy in Cinderella, and Lilac Fairy Attendant in The Sleeping Beauty. At St. Louis, she is an active member of the yearbook staff, Students for Life, school Ambassadors, Helping Hands Club, National Honor Society, and is a Student Council Senator. Jaina is also a member of the Teen Acts Team at St. John Bosco Catholic Church and has volunteered at Catechism of the Good Shepherd. Jaina loves to travel and spend time watching movies with family and friends.

Cara Elizabeth Hanks cara-hanks

Cara is the 16 year old daughter of Brad and Whitney Hanks. She is a junior at St. Louis Catholic High School. This is Cara’s first year as a principal dancer and her 14th year of dance training.  Cara has participated in many LCCB Summer Intensive workshops. Cara has enjoyed performing with LCCB in the roles of Russian and Hawaiian Dancer in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Four Girl Dance in Graduation Ball.  Cara is a Student Council Senator and is involved in the National Honor Society, Ambassadors, Sweethearts, FBLA, Library Society and the Spanish Club.  She serves as a member of the Youth Advisory Council for Family and Youth, volunteers at Catholic Charities and she is also an Altar Server at OLQH Catholic Church.  In her free time, Cara enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, watching movies.

Grace Katherine Helms

Grace is the 18 year old daughter of Donita and Jeff Helms. She is a senior at St. Louis Catholic High School. She is a great example of continuing the legacy of LCCB as her mother is a former principal dancer with the company. Grace has danced with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance and LCCB for 14 years and has spent many summers training at LCCB Summer Intensives and has attended The Joffrey Workshop Texas. This is Grace’s fourth season as a principal dancer. Her recent roles with LCCB have included the Glove Seller in Gaite’ Parisienne, the Gift of Gold in The Little Drummer Boy, the title role in Cinderella, Odette (White Swan) in Swan Lake pas de deux, Lilac Fairy Attendant in The Sleeping Beauty, a Twin in Daguerreotype, In Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer she opened with the role of Mary in In a Manger and has also had the role of Swiss and Scottish Dancers. At St. Louis, she is a Student Council Senator, an Ambassador, a member of the Helping Hands Club, Students for Life, and National Honor Society. Grace also represented the Junior Class on the Homecoming Court. She is an altar server at OLQH Catholic Church and participates in the LCCB Outreach team by performing at area assisted living centers and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library. She volunteers at Montessori School and in her free time Grace enjoys reading, writing, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

Clara Burke Lang

clara-langClara is the 16 year old daughter of Erin and Stephen Lang. She is a junior, honor student at St. Louis Catholic High School. This is Clara’s second year as a principal dancer and her 14th year of dance training, 11 with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. Clara has participated in many LCCB Summer Intensive workshops as well as spending a summer at New York State Summer School of the Arts and Ballet Austin. This year Clara studied at the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program. Clara has enjoyed performing with LCCB in roles such as one of the Wise Men in The Little Drummer Boy, one of the trio in Who’s Got the Pain, and as a Puppet and the lead Japanese dancer in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. A member of the National Honors Society and St. Louis Catholic High School Ambassadors, Clara is also an active member of the Earth Club, Sweethearts dance line, French Club, and the Trumpet Newspaper.  In her free time, Clara enjoys reading, playing with her dog, and spending time with family.

Abbie Grace is the 17 year-old daughter of Leslie and Patrick Milligan. She is a junior at St. Louis Catholic High School. This is Abbie Grace’s second season as a principal dancer. She is in her 14th year of dance training, 12 with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance, and has participated in many LCCB Summer Intensive workshops. Additional summer training for Abbie Grace includes two summers at Houston Ballet Academy, a summer at Ballet Austin Academy, and a summer with American Ballet Theater in Austin. She has enjoyed many roles performing with LCCB including the Golden Weasel in Monkey Shines, Baby Swan (pas de quartre) in Swan Lake, a Jester in Cinderella, one of the Wise Men in The Little Drummer Boy, Scottish dancer and Rudolph in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Fall (pas de deux) in Seasons, and a feature in The Fall of Venus. At St. Louis, Abbie Grace is an active member of National Honor Society, Ambassadors, Helping Hands Club, Spanish Club, and is a Student Council Senator, Earth Club Secretary, Students for Life Treasurer, and First Lieutenant of Sweethearts. She volunteers for Abraham’s Tent, Manna Ministry, Villa Maria, and Catholic Charities.

Lauren Danielle Reyeslauren-reyes

Lauren is the 16 year old daughter of Daniel and Anna Reyes. She is a junior at St. Louis Catholic High School. Lauren is in her 13th year of dance study, 11 with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. Additional dance training for Lauren includes many LCCB Summer Intensive Workshops. This is Lauren’s second year as a principal dancer and has performed in roles such as Kari Doll, Russian dancer and Puppet in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Fox in Ou Est la Fox, one of the trio in Who’s Got the Pain, and a Jester in Cinderella.  At St. Louis, she is an active member of the Earth Club, Spanish Club, Helping Hands, Key Club, National Honors Society, Students for Life and Ambassadors. Lauren is an altar server at OLQH Catholic Church and has volunteered in the community at Resthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In her free time, Lauren enjoys singing, playing guitar and spending time with family and friends.

Heather Marie Vogel

heather-vogelHeather is the 17 year old daughter of Kim and David Vogel. She is a senior at St. Louis Catholic High School. Heather is in her 13th year of dance study, ten with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. Additional dance training has included many LCCB Summer Intensives as well as Lelia Haller Ballet Classique Summer Intensive in New Orleans. This is her second season as a principal dancer and she has enjoyed many roles with LCCB including the Mexican dancer and Kari Doll in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Head Huntress in Ou Est Le Fox, and one of the Wise Men in The Little Drummer Boy.  At St. Louis, Heather is an active member of Earth Club, French Club, Helping Hands Club, Students for Life, National Honor Society, and is an Ambassador. She is a member of the LCCB Outreach Team which performs at area Assisted Living Centers and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library. She has volunteered in the community with Habitat for Humanity, Catholic Charities, Potter’s House, Recycle Day, and Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. This past summer Heather was selected as a member of AHEC, a summer program at Christus St. Patrick Hospital for students pursuing a health-related career.  In her free time, Heather enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
